DHH Middle School CTE Exploration Day

I hope you are having a great week! I am reaching to update you about our Deaf/Hard of Hearing Middle School Student Prosser CTE Exploration Day. We invited 3 of our DHH student feeder schools (Chase, Bell and Jamieson)  to participate in CTE exploration day. The schedule for October 6th is below. The 3 shops hosting hands-on activities will be Carpentry, Welding and Digital Media since they have DHH Prosser 12th graders in their classes who will be presenting to middle schoolers. In addition, Culinary Arts students will do a brief explanation of their menu during the lunch portion of the agenda.  I will need everyone else’s flexibility during our CTE Classes Tour portion of the agenda from 11:45am-12:10pm (AUTO, ELECTRICITY, GAME PROGRAMMING, MACHINE TECH and HVAC). The 20- 23 students attending will be divided into 3 groups 6-8 students per group (each group will have an interpreter). Our goal during tours is for each group to visit these 5 classes and receive a mini-5 minute overview of some of the cool things your students do in your pathways, it can be student or teacher-led. PS. In preparation for this event DIGITAL MEDIA students will be making posters to post outside each of our classes, so they will be coming around taking pictures of your students engaged in activities in the coming days.
