Career and Technical Education (CTE) prepares students for their lives beyond the classroom by equipping them with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in postsecondary education, advanced career training or immediate entry into jobs with a meaningful career path.
CTE programs combine a rigorous high school academic curriculum with training in career and technical subjects and workplace competencies.
Prosser students learn about, then select a Career & Technical Education pathway in 9th grade and are enrolled in a one-period course towards their CTE diploma in the 10th grade and in double-period courses during 11th and 12th grades.
The mission of Career and Technical Education is to equip students to successfully transition into post-secondary education, advanced career training, or viable jobs with meaningful career paths through standards-based curriculum and hands-on training integrating academic instruction, industry-recognized career and technical skills education and workplace readiness skills preparation.
