Graphic Communications/ Printing

Graphic Communication focuses on the design , assembly and production of printed materials. The students learn how to operate Adobe Photoshop, illustrator as well as in design. As next step the students take the designs through printing process, finishing (cutting, folding, stapling, collating and distribution). The students get a well rounded training experience.


The shop is equipped with brand new Mac computers

As well as cutting boards, printers, copying machines.

Specifications:

  • As Sophomores the students focus on the history of the industry, learning the language of the industry, and basic overviews of the programs the students will use.

  • As Juniors the students expand on the basics and begin taking on the larger projects as they prepare to work up to replacing the seniors.

  • As Seniors the students run the shop, handle scheduling, design outside work for activities, design and print t-shirts.

A graduating Senior leaves the program with the skills necessary to acquire a position in the printing industry. As well as receive am Adobe Certification, Work Keys Certifications after they pass the exams and soft skills training.

- This program requires a large amount of dedication and training. The experience acquired through the coursework can be applied in many fields besides printing. Computer applications, Job skills, and life experience regarding deadlines and punctuality. As well as the self directed discipline required is universal. This is one of the closest work environments compared to technology and equipment found in the work world.
