Computer Programming & Technology

This course introduces the students to the world of Computer Programming. Students learn the different computer languages such as Visual Basic, Alice, Java, C++, HTML and JavaScript to design computer programs, games, and web sites. Students are also taught the SCANS skills for preparation to enter the working world.

The computer shop is fully equipped with dell computers. As well as with special programs.

Specifications:

• As Sophomores the students study Visual Basic and Alice.
  
  
• As Juniors the students study Alice and Java.
  
  
• As Seniors the students study HTM/JavaScript and Java. Seniors also take care of Prosser's Web Site and finish the year with a Capstone Project.

Students are prepared for continuing their education in Computers at College. Our classes are similar to the beginning classes at College. Students are also prepared to obtain an entry level position in the working world.

The computer lab has been recently updated (in November 2008)with new computers for the students who are enrolled in the program. Lessons are posted for the students on Prosser's Web Site along with assignments. This way the student can easily keep up with the class material when absent or refer back to material as a review.
